Last month we reported that Apple’s CEO met with China Telecom while on a PR tour of Apple Stores and meeting with Shanghai party Secretary Han Zheng. While on tour Cook was interviewed by the Chinese-language version of Bloomberg Businessweek. Snippets of that interview came to light today where Cook stated that Apple seriously considers details including color palettes that suit the tastes of Chinese consumer. For example, the decision to offer a gold iPhone last year reflected in part the popularity of that color among Chinese users.

Commenting on the Apple Watch, Cook talked about developers getting off to a fast start by developing more than 3,500 apps for the new gadget. According to Cook, that was well ahead of the 500 apps available for the 2008 edition of the iPhone and the 1,000 for the first iPad in 2010. For more on this see the full Bloomberg report.
